Simply GTD with Kelly: The Nuances of Inbox Zero

I had an "ah-ha" moment yesterday, I think. The GTD workflow diagram, walks through a few key questions. The very first one is "What is it?" Before you even get to asking if it's actionable (yes or no) and then what you're going to about it (delete/do/delegate/defer), you need to figure out what it even is. Sounds simple and obvious enough, but I think skipping over that one question is what has so many people fusterclupped (my technical term for being confused and stuck) about getting In to

Member Exclusive: Twitter Archiving?

Can any of you folks using twitter help me find a way to archive or file for future reference the tweets I send out? I want to keep some of it for diary purposes for use later when I get to doing my scrapbooks and I can't figure out how to do that. Ideally I'd have a text file of the tweets with a d...

However, depending on your work environment these suggestions may not be applicable...or even possible.

I'm certain that many employers wouldn't take it too kindly

Where Is The Best Place To Keep "The Altitude Map"??

Hello,

After reading the book, I'm not sure where to keep the altitude map. I understand that parts of it are part of the system, like:

1. Runway is actions. So to me thats kept in @Actions in Outlook and categories in Tasks.

2. 10,000 ft is projects. Kept in lists under .Projects in Tasks ...

Can GTD help with too much email volume?

In my earlier blog post about getting your email inbox down to zero, GTD'er Gil asked the question, "So, what do you suggest when the problem seems to be the sheer quantity, not just mail management practices?"

There are two things I would look at:  Speed + Input

One angle to consider is to get really good and faster at processing.  Speed will be required when you're getting tons of volume every day if you hope to get through it all without it consuming your entire day.
