GTD Times: An experiment by a 'GTD parent'

Mike Williams, speaker at the recent GTD Summit, and longtime friend of David Allen Company, sent us this story with us about his experience sharing GTD with his kids. We thought this was fitting to share on Father's Day.
I am always running experiments with my kids (queue the evil scientist laugh!).  I would love to share these experiments or test new things (experiments, gear) to help start the GTD thinking at an earlier age.

Member Exclusive: Happy Solstice & Fathers' Day & K's Birthday

Today we celebrate the solstice. On a farm the dates designated by the sun and moon have greater importance. Solstice means it's time to start making hay, the first fruits of the season are coming on and gardens are now growing and producing. It's almost time to harvest garlic, strawberries and cher...

Simply GTD with Kelly: The Nuances of Inbox Zero

I had an "ah-ha" moment yesterday, I think. The GTD workflow diagram, walks through a few key questions. The very first one is "What is it?" Sounds simple and obvious enough, but I think skipping over that one question is what has so many people fusterclupped (my technical term for being confused and stuck) about getting In to

Can any of you folks using twitter help me find a way to archive or file for future reference the tweets I send out? I want to keep some of it for diary purposes for use later when I get to doing my scrapbooks and I can't figure out how to do that. Ideally I'd have a text file of the tweets with a d...

GTD Times: The Power of Recess

A community contribution by self-professed productivity expert Mike Vardy

We've all heard the benefits of taking naps or practicing meditation during your workday can result in one being more productive. We've also heard how these things aren't necessarily mutually exclusive - sometimes (often by accident) they go hand in hand. However, depending on your work environment these suggestions may not be applicable...or even possible.

I'm certain that many employers wouldn't take it too kindly

Where Is The Best Place To Keep "The Altitude Map"??

Hello,

After reading the book, I'm not sure where to keep the altitude map. I understand that parts of it are part of the system, like:

1. Runway is actions. So to me thats kept in @Actions in Outlook and categories in Tasks.

2. 10,000 ft is projects. Kept in lists under .Projects in Tasks ...
