Gary Null: The Effect of Sugar on the American Diet

As you may recall, I am General Counsel to Gary Null’s Anti-Aging Center, Inc. and a personal attorney for Gary Null, Ph.D. On June 21, 2002, you wrote Mr. Null a letter calling into question some of the statements that he made in his PBS public health documentary, “Seven Steps to Perfect Health.” In large part your letter challenged Mr. Null’s opinion that sugar, as it is currently consumed, is an unhealthy component of the modern American diet. On June 26, 2002, we responded by writing you a brief letter saying that we would take your letter under advisement, review the research that you presented, and undertake our own independent investigation.

Gary Null and Jeremy Stillman – SOLAR FLARES ARE COMING: How Prepared Are YOU to Survive?

In the five days leading up to Hurricane Katrina making its landfall, I issued a warning on my radio show advising the residents of the Gulf coast to evacuate their homes. I encouraged them to pack their valuables, leave their homes behind and head at least 50 to 100 miles North by bus, train, car, bicycle or even walking, as I realized that many people had no means of transportation. I also challenged the Army Corps of Engineers on the safety of the old and deteriorating levees located throughout New Orleans. However, approximately 80% of the people remained as they were told by local authorities that the levees would hold and they would survive.

Dr. Mercola — War on Health: The FDA’s Cult of Tyranny

“The FDA is responsible for protecting the public health by assuring the safety, efficacy, and security of human and veterinary drugs, biological products, medical devices, our nation’s food supply, cosmetics, and products that emit radiation.

The FDA is also responsible for advancing the public health by helping to speed innovations that make medicines and foods more effective, safer, and more affordable; and helping the public get the accurate, science-based information they need to use medicines and foods to improve their health.”

Furthermore, the report found that “the development of medical products based on “new science” cannot be adequately regulated by the FDA, and that the agency does not have the capacity to carry out risk assessment and analysis. Additionally, the agency’s science agenda “lacks coherent structure and vision, as well as effective coordination and prioritization.”

Gary Null and Nancy Ashley – BAD TO THE BONE: Fraud IS the Business Plan

Part I – GlaxoSmithKline

You would have thought the way the stock price rose on Monday, July 2, 2012, that good news had been reported about British company GlaxoSmithKline instead of the announcement that the company had agreed to plead guilty to misdemeanor charges and pay a $3 billion criminal settlement to settle the largest case of healthcare fraud in U.S. history. In fact, the settlement was previously disclosed by GSK to its shareholders and was at least $150 million lower than expected. Not only is this a relatively paltry sum for a company which brings in $45 billion a year in revenue, but it essentially allows Glaxo to be absolved of its many crimes, and the injuries and deaths resulting from its dangerous pharmaceuticals over the past decade. It used to be that in most cases, a fraud settlement of more than a billion dollars would destroy a company. But as we have repeatedly seen over the years, this is just a regular cost of doing business for the pharmaceutical industry. Ultimately, this $3 billion fine is just a line item on GSK’s balance sheet.

Gary Null & Nancy Ashley – GOV. NIKKI HALEY REJECTS GARDASIL: A MOMENT OF SANITY IN A SEA OF CORPORATE-SPONSORED CONFUSION

Nikki Haley, Governor of South Carolina, made headlines on Tuesday by vetoing a bill initiated by the Democrats which would provide sixth graders with government-sponsored information encouraging parents to get the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine for their children as well as one free HPV vaccine for seventh graders. Haley has received a barrage of criticism for her actions, and charges of hypocrisy for having previously sponsored a bill in 2007 that would have mandated the HPV vaccine in South Carolina, even though she ultimately withdrew her backing because the bill did not contain an opt-out provision. While the current bill had broad bipartisan support, Governor Haley rejected it as unnecessary and because it would be a precursor to a vaccine mandate entirely dependent on government funding. More importantly, however, Haley was quoted as saying her previous support of a human papillomavirus vaccine mandate was a mistake: now that she has a 14 year-old daughter she feels differently about “what I am going to do as a parent and what I want for my child.”1

Gary Null, Ph.D. and Martin Feldman, M.D. – Vegetarianism – Part 3: The Economic and Taste Benefits of a Vegetarian Diet

In Parts 1 and 2 of this series, we presented historical, philosophical, and nutritional perspectives on a vegetarian diet. This final installment discusses two of the more practical aspects of vegetarian eating: the economic advantages of choosing a plant-based diet and issues of personal taste that accompany a vegetarian diet.

Research indicates that vegetarian eating offers notable health benefits compared with a traditional meat-based diet. But in addition to these health benefits, a vegetarian diet offers monetary advantages as well. Many vegetarian foods cost far less than animal products, allowing consumers to cut their household expenses even as the cost of living rises steeply around them.

Gary Null, Ph.D. – Fluoridation: Medicating our Water, Part 3

Fluoride (and its various compounds) is toxic all by itself, but its interaction with other toxic metals is of increasing concern. Research published in the December 2000 issue of the journal Neurotoxicology warns that public drinking water treated with sodium silicofluoride or fluosilicic acid, known as silicofluorides (SiFs), is linked to higher uptake of lead in children.168 Less than 10% of fluoridation systems in the US use sodium fluoride, the substance first used to fluoridate public drinking water in 1945. SiFs are now used to treat drinking water for 140 million Americans. Yet the safety of SiFs has never been tested, nor have they been approved by the FDA.

The research was conducted by a team led by Roger D. Masters, Dartmouth College research professor; Nelson A. Rockefeller, professor emeritus of government; and Myron J. Coplan, a consulting chemical engineer, formerly vice president of Albany International Corporation. The team has now studied the blood lead levels in over 400,000 children in three different samples. In each case, they found a significant link between SiF-treated water and elevated blood lead levels. The researchers found that the greatest likelihood of children having elevated blood lead levels occurs when they are exposed both to known risk factors, such as old house paint and lead in soil or water, and to SiF-treated drinking water.
