The new 'normal' in police state America: SWAT teams order innocent Americans out of their homes at gunpoint
This is what has emerged from a secret YouTube video that had to be covertly filmed while ducking behind a window.

Jon Queally - Revealed: The US 'Dirty War' Veteran Who Trained Iraqi 'Death Squads'
A special investigation by The Guardian newspaper and BBC Arabic that took place over 15 months claims to reveal a shocking, but substantial connection between the murderous tactics of US-backed Latin American 'death squads' in the 1980's and the rise of a similar tactics—including secret detention centers, torture, disappearances, and mass killings—that helped spark a sectarian civil war between Shia and Sunni rivals in the violent days triggered by the US invasion of Iraq in 2003.
And the connection, according to the investigation, lives in a gated golf community in Texas and has a name: (Ret.) Colonel James Steele.
"Steele's contribution was pivotal" in Iraq, says the report. And his time in El Salvador nearly 20 years earlier made him a perfect choice for the Pentagon's Donald Rumsfeld, who took control over a plan to break the back of an insurgency unwilling to conform to US occupation.
"It was a role made for Steele," the investigative team writes. "The veteran had made his name in El Salvador almost 20 years earlier as head of a US group of special forces advisers who were training and funding the Salvadoran military to fight the FNLM guerrilla insurgency. These government units developed a fearsome international reputation for their death squad activities. Steele's own biography describes his work there as the "training of the best counterinsurgency force" in El Salvador."

S.L & R.A - Stephen Barrett and Medical McCarthyism
would misconstrue me and my co-author as such, we mean to clarify the following: we are not
advocates of the alternative health movement, rather, we are advocates and supporters of truth. - S.L
& R.A)
Introduction
Dr. Stephen Barrett is a ubiquitous figure in the world of health and medicine with a unique talent.
A talent, described by Health and Human Services official, Dr. Thomas R. Eng, as a gift for widely
"[influencing] behavior change" via interactive media. Elaborating, Eng states that "[Barrett] tailors
information and interactions to the individual," adding, "In print media, there is some kind of
vetting. In interactive, anyone or their brother can slap a Web page together."
One assumes that Barrett, in his efforts and opinions, is authoritative and correct, speaking as a
retired physician / psychiatrist who's been interviewed on innumerable occasions by CNN, The
New York Times, has testified as an expert before congress, and, in a larger sense, has been
adopted by mainstream media as the "consumer watchdog" du jour within the field of medicine.
Well, alternative medicine, more specifically.
He has authored reports on many of the most accomplished practitioners and experts in the
alternative health movement and in doing so, has generated a fair amount of controversy and mixed
media attention. So much, in fact, that the reports on his site have come to dominate web search
engine results, and in effect, preemptively tainting the reputations of hundreds of legitimate, well
credentialed alternative health practitioners. Upon discovering this, my curiosity was piqued and I
felt compelled to conduct some independent research on the matter, and hopefully, reach a
conclusion as to whether Barrett was, indeed, an expert, or guilty of what Dr. Eng describes as
"medical McCarthyism".
My focus would be the history and relationship between Barrett and Dr. Gary Null. Null is
arguably the most respected, prolific advocate and high-profile voice in the alternative heath
movement, influencing a massively wide spectrum of people throughout a varied host of philanthropic efforts and causes. The purpose of this paper is to not to bring direct challenge to
Barrett's work or ideology, but rather to present facts and convey reasoned, journalistic
interrogation into the heart of this debate. To that end, we can look to Null's extensive work and
research on the negative effects of fluoride, mercury, vaccines, sugar and caffeine, all of which,
Barrett has called in to question. Research will demonstrate that science firmly supports all of
Null's conclusions and solutions on these topics. Fact checking and research is the cornerstone of
the journalistic process, yet, Barrett and those media outlets who would employ his subjective
opinion as scientific fact, quite simply, have not done their homework here.

The Grocery Store Blacklist: 12 Food Companies to Avoid (and 95 Sneaky Aliases)
By Fritz Kreiss | April 12, 2013 | Activism, Boycott, Consumer rights, Food Safety, GMO, GMO Labeling
[image error]A genetically modified rose by any other name may smell sweet, but may still have frankenthorns© that might independently detach themselves and lop off your finger while you’re smelling it for all you know. That’s not unlike a trip to the grocery store these days. There are a lot of ugly surprises in pretty, charmingly-named packages.
It seems like no matter how hard you try to avoid them, GMOs and toxic foods creep into your life.
Take for example, the earthily-packaged “natural” foods that are showcased in your grocery store aisles. They cost twice as much, have obscure brand names, and tout their health benefits and natural sources. You can almost smell the freshly tilled soil when you pick up the box.
Unfortunately, this is nothing more than corporate sleight-of-hand.
Many of the products that seem so good are actually just subsidiaries of the companies that were most complicit in blocking GMO labeling, aided and abetted by everyone’s favorite purveyor of death, Monsanto. (Monsanto, incidentally, donated $7,100,500.00 to the fight against the labeling of GMO-containing products.) Don’t forget that Monsanto is now above the law due to the Monsanto Protection Act, a traitorous rider that Senator Roy Blunt managed to attach to a bill that was subsequently signed into law by President Obama. (you know, that guy in the White House, who made the labeling of GMOs one of his 2007 campaign promises?)
[image error]I wish I could make a comprehensive list, but there are more stealthily labeled toxins on the shelves every single day. It all boils down to a these big companies that own nearly all of the foods sold in the United States. Some of the quietly owned subsidiaries may surprise you. Included is the amount that the company (and its subsidiaries) donated to defeat California Proposition 37 which would have required GMO labeling.
Not every item on this list contains genetically modified ingredients. The list is based on the duplicitous marketing of the companies. More consumers are trying to make healthy choices at the grocery stores, but it’s difficult when companies push their toxic wares and dress them up as health food. Young people in particular fall victim to these schemes. You have to give a kid credit for purchasing something called “Vitamin Water” over a soda pop, and it’s infuriating that the kid, trying to make a good choice, has been tricked into the purchase by deceitful advertising and marketing.
Some of the products listed, may in fact be exactly what they are portrayed to be, but I choose not to financially support the corporations behind them.
Protect your health and help starve the beast by avoiding products distributed by these companies and their subsidiaries:

A little bit of good news…
It isn’t all bad news. There are a few companies you can still count on – keep in mind that corporate mergers take place every day. When businesses change hands, there is no obligation to notify the public. One such cautionary tale took place with the company Dean’s, which acquired Horizon foods. They quietly phased out the use of organic products without making any changes to the label and used non-organic milk produced under factory farm conditions. As well, they dropped the quality of their organic soy and began purchasing cheaper harvests from Asia. Meanwhile, unwitting retailers had no idea that the company had ceased producing the items organically, and continued to promote the products as they had previous to the acquisition.
Right now, these are some labels to look for.

Another way to avoid unscrupulous food producers is through apps such as Buycott. If you have an iPhone, it can be used to check a product that you see in the stores to see what corporate links exist with a quick scan (it will be coming to Android soon as well).
Of course, the best way to avoid GMOs and toxic additives is to avoid packaged foods altogether. Raise and preserve your own food, buy organic and local, cook from scratch, and avoid processed foods.

Gary Null - Does Heart Rate Affect Longevity?
Having spent my entire adult career working with tens of thousands of individuals as a scientist, clinician, and therapist in anti-aging research, it has been my observation that the higher one’s resting heart rate, the more susceptible one is to heart disease and premature death. Considering that we have added nearly ten years to the average lifespan over the last forty years, what can we point to that accounts for this change? A look at the evidence shows that it is multifactorial.
When I was growing up, my parents, aunts and uncles, all smoked two to three packs of cigarettes a day. They drank a lot of alcohol- not to get drunk but to socialize- and they had high concentrations of animal protein, saturated fats and refined carbohydrates. They rarely exercised and more often than not, they internalized their distress. This lifestyle was typical among that generation of Americans.
Today, the last two generations have caused a renaissance in health awareness. Thanks to them, we now know the importance consuming a healthy vegan diet high in raw foods and fresh juices, using supplements, and abstaining from alcohol and smoking. We are aware of how indispensible exercise and more and more people are reaping the benefits of de-stress practices such as yoga and meditation. The combination of all these factors has produced a quantitative change our life expectancy.
Gary Null and Richard Gale - America’s Foreclosure Crisis Leading to Rising Poverty
Last July, approximately 1.5 million homes, 1 in 352 homes, were in a stage of foreclosure, and 14.9 million of all mortgages—31 percent—are underwater. The foreclosure rate right now is on course to overtake 2010’s high of 2.9 million foreclosures among 3.8 million filed. Combining these two figures, and estimating an average of 4 family members per home, we are looking at a future of 65.6 million new victims entering homelessness or on the verge of homelessness.
Economist Dean Baker, co-director at the Center for Economics and Policy Research, identifies only two policies in effect for underwater homeowners: foreclosure or mortgage modification. Both procedures, according Baker, are dismal failures on many scores and continue to fuel loss of homes and the degradation of home values. Mortgage modification, basically written by the banking and mortgage industries, was never meant to be universal. Only a small percentage of homeowners, after numerous hurdles, manage to qualify in the programs.
As a simple example, a home valued at $400K at the time of purchase may be as low as $200K-$300K after mortgage default. At auction, the property may go for $100K and often sold to a person affiliated with the bank. The new owner can either enter the home into the rental market or flip and resell it at $150 to a speculator. Everyone has made money through the transactions except the original owner.
Bees “restored to health” in Italy after this spring’s neonicotinoid-free maize sowing
During this year’s neonicotinoid-free maize sowing in Italy hardly a bee colony has been lost, bar a suspicious case where some leftover seed from last year may have been used
It does look like a resounding, spectacular success. During this year’s neonicotinoid-free maize sowing in Italy hardly a bee colony has been lost, bar a suspicious case where some leftover seed from last year may have been used.
The ban on the insecticide-soaked seed coating enforced by the Italian government last year seems to have worked wonders, judging from the freshest data collected on the ground by researchers, beekeepers and regional authorities alike.

Norma Erickson - HPV Vaccine Safety: Has the CDC abandoned its mission?
What would happen if a vaccine turned out to cause more health problems than the disease it was meant to protect against? Are medical consumers watching this scenario unfold with HPV vaccines?
The U.S. Center for Disease Control (CDC) states 90% of all HPV infections clear on their own with no symptoms or medical treatment. Yes, human papillomavirus (HPV) may be one of the most commonly sexually transmitted viruses in the country, but in the vast majority of cases there are no serious health consequences to being exposed to human papillomavirus.
In those cases where infections with the same genotype of HPV persist over time, abnormal cervical lesions may develop. These abnormal lesions (CIN), classified 1, 2, or 3, are typically called ‘precancerous’ lesions. Not many people are aware of the fact that most CIN1 lesions go away on their own within two years. 25-50% of CIN2 lesions regress on their own within the same two year time frame. According to the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), World Health Organization, the results of a pooled analysis of studies published between 1950 and 1993 indicated only 12% of CIN3 lesions progress to invasive cervical cancer.

Dead sea lions washing on shore in California appear to have died from radiation poisoning
It's unusual because this is the season when sea lion pups flourish. Instead they're struggling ashore in starved, emaciated conditions, if they've managed to stay alive. Scientists say almost half the sea lions born this past winter have died.
When they get too thin, they're forced to go ashore for sun because they can't stay warm in cool waters. All the concerned marine biology scientists are scratching their heads. Some have commented on how this sort of mortality rate is usually predictable according to atmospheric or oceanic conditions.
