How Vaccines Work

These two functional branches of the immune system may be compared to the two functions in eating: tasting and recognizing the food on the one hand, and digesting the food and eliminating the food waste on the other hand. In the same way, the humoral or Th2 branch of the immune system "tastes" and recognizes and even remembers foreign antigens and the cellular or Th1 branch of the immune system digests and eliminates the foreign antigens from the body. But just as too much repeated tasting of food will ruin the appetite, so also too much repeated stimulation of the "tasting" humoral immune system by an antigen will inhibit and suppress the digesting and eliminating function of the cellular immune system. In other words, overstimulating antibody production can suppress the acute inflammatory response of the cellular immune system! 1

Under normal circumstances, when a public health measure is advocated or mandated, and it is
accepted without question by all Federal health agencies, state and local health departments, and
promoted by the mainstream media with unquestioning support from the orthodox medical
community, then it is assumed that such measures at the very least meet basic scientifically
proven criteria. Foremost should be public health safety and that the proven efficacy of a health
program be implemented according to rigorous scientific gold standards. When this standard is
ignored and denied, as is now being done by our health officials, then the wellbeing of the nation
is placed at risk. Consequently, we see the concerns regarding the swine flu vaccine focusing
upon supply rather than health.

Gary Null: The UN’s Mercury Treaty Favors Corporate Wealth Over Children’s Health

After almost four years of demanding negotiations, the United Nations Environmental Program (UNEP) announced that 140 nations reached agreement to begin ratifying the Minamata Convention on Mercury. The Convention will be an international binding treaty to reduce and eventually eliminate mercury compounds altogether from polluting industries, such as gold mining and fossil fuel plants, and many common household products.

Overall the treaty is an admirable triumph. In many developing countries, mercury pollution is destroying the environment and causing rampant human illness. However fervent applause should be withheld. One powerful alliance that portends to champion itself as the protector human health—the vaccine industrial complex—is resolved to assure that mercurial exposure continue through aggressive vaccination programs. To the delight all those corralled in the amphitheater of vaccine magic and wonder—the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the US CDC and FDA, the World Health Organization (WHO)—the treaty will exempt thimerosal (ethylmercury) containing vaccines (TCVs). So while sources of mercury pollution will lessen dramatically, hundreds of millions of child-bearing women, newborns and small children will be increasingly poisoned by TCVs.

According to the statutes of the FDA’s Public Health Service Act, vaccine manufacturers are
required to prove a vaccine complies with three criteria before approval and launch: safety,
purity and potency. There are no requirements before FDA approval and licensing that a vaccine
undergoes independent studies by researchers with no vested financial interests and industry ties
in order to validate a vaccine maker’s claims. Rather, the entire approval process is nothing more
than a good-faith relationship between the vaccine industrial complex and the FDA and the
CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practice (ACID), the primary entity determining
vaccine policies.
