Ahhhhh

Found slipped inside a copy of Straight Life: The Story of Art Pepper, by Art & Laurie Pepper, purchased at a bookstall in Swiss Cottage, London.

Wake Up Crying

I was looking in my library's for sale section, and found a nice made-from-scratch empty notebook for just twenty five cents. I picked it up and thumbed through it to see if it had been used at all, and I found one page in the back that had been written on. It's incredibly interesting to me - to know that someone may have written it, forgotten about it and submitted it for sale; or maybe they knew it was there and sold it anyway?

Beach Holiday

Found this card at a local book exchange in a book about the BASIC programming language. Somehow I don't think that was the "light reading" referred to in the message.

Stubum

I found this folded up in the floor vent, under the grate in a school classroom.

She Is Satan's Mistress

Found this in the parking lot of a hobby lobby. I wonder who she was warning.

Please Help

I found this letter in an antique desk I bought at a thrift store a year and a half ago. I am guessing the author is an elderly woman who has lost her independence and freedom and is upset about it. I hope she's alive and well, but I suspect that her belongings were donated to the thrift store after her passing.

Please Help

Plenty of Salt

This was within the pages of an old Leonardo DaVinci library book. It was on the back of a blank spelling game copyrighted in 1936.

It reads:

"Dear Meg,

Life, religion, art and love are experience and not topics. I like your spirit, that is why I stayed so long last night--please forget it.

Bob

My two jolly brothers are Bob's attitude, with plenty of salt on what be said."

Pro French, Con French, Part 2

I was at the bar and decided to play dice with the the bartender. This notepad had been sitting to my right unattended since I'd arrived, so I grabbed it to use under the dice cup so it wouldn't be so noisy. It was opened to these pages, 24 and 25.
