Co-Author Alan Shayne shares this handsome photo of himself as a young man.

The fun of the picture is the two people I had met on the ship the Liberté in 1954 (on my first trip to Europe) and who I haven't seen since, read "Double Life" and contacted me. One of them sent me this picture of the way I looked on the crossing. Bob Starring and Joanne Gilbert have since become good E-mail friends

For all you Mad Men enthusiasts, co-author Norman Sunshine came up with some of the most memorable one liners that define a generation

.'WHAT BECOMES A LEGEND MOST?',

This campaign for 'Blackgama' Minks became so legendary that famous stars clamored to be on the list to be photographed. Now a renowned painter and sculptor, Sunshine made an indelible mark on advertising culture at that time.

WHAT A GREAT SURPRISE! Just alerted that the terrific actor Alan Cumming has recommended our book, "Double Life," in the book section of People magazine, May 28 issue.
We don't know him except for his outstanding performances, so we are very pleased indeed.

5.0 out of 5 stars A GREAT READ AT THE RIGHT TIME!

By ChevyVega

This review is from: Double Life: A Love Story from Broadway to Hollywood (Hardcover)

How fascinating this book is historically and especially pertinent today. With President Obama finally coming out with his support of same sex marriage, this book sheds a revealing light on the subject, by showing how a relationship of two talented men survives over 50 years. It also lays out, without preaching, why theirs deserves the same rights as any straight relationship. The book is adventurous as they pursue their different careers, very funny in parts and extremely moving in others. They have both met and interacted with fascinating people, from movie stars to mad men ad types, and they also tell of the inner workings of the entertainment industry, plus the art and publishing worlds. All good stuff to know, and written with great ease and insight. The two men write their alternating chapters in two part harmony which builds to a final and beautifully revealing climax. As a "straight reader" I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes a memoir. It's one of the freshest yet.

We still couldn't leave our estates to each other without excessive taxes, nor could we give each other money as married people can, and we would still have difficulty getting hospital rights for each other in most of the states in the country. So why was it a day that I knew would go down in histor...
