Founder of The Independent Journalism Foundation, Jim has held various editorial positions with The New York Times since 1967. He served in the cabinets of both President Kennedy and President Johnson.
Born in Estonia, Ene Riisna is one of the first female producers in network news and an Emmy Award-winning producer at 20/20 ABC News. She has worked on many of Barbara Walters’ high-profile interviews, as well as numerous documentaries for NBC and PBS. Ene works with Jim’s foundation and is currently writing a book based on stories of her homeland.
The co-authors of "Double Life' will be speaking to the attendees of the dinner about their popular and moving memoir now in its 2nd printing.

We applaud Jennifer C. Pizer, a professor at the University of California, who focuses on sexual orientation law, for her comments in today's NY Times.
“Many people of good will have grown up with the belief that homosexuality is dangerous,” she said. “The court is saying that the fact that certain congressmen and justices may have a fondness for the 1950s doesn’t change the fact that under the rule of law everyone has to be treated equally.”
At a recent Washington D.C. book party, we discussed our hopes for judgements such as this one in Massachusetts. Authors pictured with Democratic strategist Hilarie Rosen.
