Much of Taxlo's success was the hard work of two DJs, Simon the Phoenix and Cullen Stalin, who guys that worked their butts off to get people excited and play the best sets they could. Both of them are very active in the scene today. Through their connections, they booked guests like Diplo, Dan Deacon, Rod Lee, and Low Budget (Hollertronix).

These were weird times. I would work a full 40 hour week at my office job and then nap Friday afternoon. The it was off to Sonar (a club in downtown Baltimore) to take photos of the growing Taxlo crowds. I would post these photos once a week on a now defunct website.

At its height, Taxlo occured two times a week. Monday nights at the now closed Talking Head Club and Friday night as Sonar, just a few blocks away. Sonar was much, much larger than The Talking Head with a lounge that held maybe 70-100 people and then a main stage room with a capacity of 900-1,000. On our best nights, we had about 900 people dancing in the main room.
