So Say the Networks


It's tough not getting over excited about very preliminary news about optioning So Say the Waiters, but over the weekend I spoke with a film producer and screen writer who is very interested in the series. He read the treatment and episode one, and we spoke at length about where the series might go. There was even quick talk about casting, but just to get his head around the vibe of the characters. Sirois' novel is just screaming to be optioned. Developers create an app that allow players to be kidnapped and it takes off like wildfire. There's the thrill of being taken, of surrendering - it's electrifying. Plus So Say The Waiters is one of those rare books where the setting also feels like a character. This is the first installment in a series too, so there's more fun to come.

A Living Outline, the way I avoided writing my novel's shitty first draft


One of the craziest accomplishments of my short writing career was finishing So Say the Waiters, book 1, in under a month. And it wasn’t just a sloppy first draft.
