I was born in New York City and grew up there and in Western Massachusetts. I began writing while pursuing my master's degree. My first novel, Ride a Dark Horse, filled most of a spiral bound notebook. I soon realized I far preferred writing love stories to term papers!

I now live in Rhode Island with my husband, two children, and our black lab. Our cat Zevon keeps us all in line.

Dear Danielle,

My sincere apologies for not replying sooner. This has been a tumultuous beginning of 2017 for me. I'm so glad you enjoyed Once Touched. It's the third book in my Silver Creek series and while it's supposed to be the final book, I never say 'never'! You may enjoy reading the first two books in the series--Once Tempted and Once Tasted. Again, I'm so sorry in taking so long to get back to you. Best wishes, Laura (less)

Hi, Kay!
My sincere apologies for the delay in replying. I didn't even know I had questions waiting for me! So pleased to hear about your new rescue, Luna. She's a very lucky dog. I hope you enjoy Once Touched--there are some scenes that might have special meaning for you.
I'm at work on a new series now. It's called the Beach Lane series and the first book is entitled Making Waves. There are a whole bunch of new characters and I'm having a lot of fun with it. Still in the early stages of writing, so more details to follow.
Do let me know how you liked Once Touched! And thanks for writing, Kay.
~Laura

“He’d surfaced, spluttering, and swam as best he could in his sodden shirts, jeans, and sneakers over to the ladder.
Banyon was waiting for him. John had a choice, she told him. He could climb up the ladder and cut the crap permanently, leaving her and the other women on the team alone. Or he could stay there. The water might be just cold enough to act as an anesthetic. She would dive in and bring one of the lobster traps to the surface. Since he’d been asking all week, she’d happily handle his you-know-what for him. And stuff it in the lobster trap. It’d be a yummy little appetizer for those big, hungry lobsters.”
