The audio format for the series was started late in 2024. The Blood was released in early January 2025 and The Balance is scheduled to be out by the end of July 2025. Books 3 & 4 (The Blades and The Seventh Stone) will follow shortly thereafter. All have multiple narrators and special sound effects, even some music to enhance the listening experience. You can find them on AMPlify Audiobooks, Audible, Author's Republic, Libby, Libro, and other audiobook formats. Just type in the title and my name (i.e. The Blood by Allynn Riggs) and see if your favorite format has them. If they don't, you can request that they let you know when they do.
Even as the author I have already listened to The Blood's audio four times. The narrators have done an excellent job. And the special effects truly bring the story to life!

Yes, The Stone's Blade series is complete and all four books are currently available via paperback and eBook. Books 1 & 2 (The Blood and The Balance) are also now available in audiobook format through AMPlify Audiobooks, Audible, Author's Republic, as well as through many library formats such as Libby and Libro. Book 3 & 4 (The Blades and The Seventh Stone) are next on the docket. With multiple narrators and some special effects it's a whole new way to experience the story of Renloret, Ani, Taryn, and the thousand-year-old prophecy. If you enjoyed reading the series, you will LOVE listening to it.

Music often triggers stories so there is a lot of it in my life. Most of the time it is classical music though some of the more current artists such as The Piano Guys, Pentatonics, Home Free, etc. can get creative juices flowing in the right direction. Then in order to work through and develop those bits and pieces into something useful I have to go driving. The best times for that are when I am in the driver seat (as I hopefully am when I am writing) late at night - either alone or all passengers are asleep. It helps keep me awake.
The next best way to work through possible story ideas is to go swimming - usually up to a mile at a time. I just have to remember to breathe. Sometimes I lose count of laps but if I get through a scene or come up with an idea it doesn't matter.

I can create my own worlds, impossible scenarios, crazy characters, and I can rewrite them as many times as I want. Usually I can make characters do what I want them to do, though sometimes if a character "comes to life" in my imagination then they often will tell me what to write. And they will pester me until I do.

I listen to classical music. Music with words distracts me from the writing. I will take breaks to read something new or more especially books I read and loved when I was in high school and college. Those authors and their stories ground me and inspire me to continue. I also take long hot showers, go swimming or go on drives to inspirational view points. I always have a pad of paper and writing tools on hand so I can write down ideas, words, situations etc. that will pop up.

Start writing. Keep reading. Keep learning. Keep writing. Ask for advice and practice it. Listen to other writers. Experiment in your writing and your reading. Accept that what you write will be edited and will turn out different and probably better than you first imagined. Spend the money on a vetted editor who enjoys reading the genre you are writing in.

It's now July 2025 and the four books of The Stone's Blade series have been completed & published in paperback and eBook formats, I'm now working on getting them all published in audiobook formats through AMPlify Audiobooks. The first two books are done and we are working on books 3 & 4. With multiple narrators and some unique sound effects listening to the story brings a whole new experience to the "reader." If you enjoyed reading these books you will LOVE hearing them.
All while this is moving forward I have started a stand alone fantasy that has been on the back burner for quite awhile. This new world with a feline biped and giant spiders tangled up with a kidnapping and double murder is intriguing for me; as I know how it all starts but I'm not sure of how it will end, as opposed to the Stones Blades series where I knew both ends of the story. I am enjoying this different fantasy world and am getting the hang of it.
I'm still working on a side project as the co-writer/ghost writer of a children's story for a friend of mine who was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. I recorded her telling me the story and got it drafted before she passed away in November 2014. We laughed a lot when we worked on it. I hope to publish it through my own company. Any proceeds will go to her "family" in the P.E.O. and their educational scholarships and grants. I have a few more tweaks to finish the manuscript and I am still looking for an illustrator. If you are an illustrator, feel free to reach out to me at timberdarkpublications@gmail.com.

Believe it or not, "The Blood, The Stone's Blade, #1" got its start as a short story I wrote when I was fourteen years old. The three main characters of that story, Ani, Kela and Renloret have stayed with me ever since. Though in the short story I didn't have a name for Renloret, that came about sometime during a college creative writing class when I actually needed to have a name for him. The Stone's also appeared in the expanded story at the same time.
