Hi Olivia! Thank you so much — I’m really glad Hanna resonated with you. She wasn’t based on a specific person, but more on a feeling: what it means to survive something shattering and still try to find your way back to yourself.
Her story came from a mix of questions I couldn’t stop asking — about memory, guilt, and how trauma reshapes the people we become. I wanted to explore how someone could be strong, damaged, protective, and still capable of deep love, even after everything.
And from that space, Hanna emerged. 💙

Hi Mary! Thank you so much — your message truly made my day. I'm so glad The Lies We Whisper resonated with you and that Hanna’s journey stayed with you. Book 2, Beyond the Truth, is on the way and I’m aiming for a November 2025 release! I'm incredibly excited (and a little nervous!) to share the next chapter of her story — it goes deeper, darker, and more emotional.
Thank you again for reading, connecting, and taking the time to reach out.

Thank you so much, Lindsay. That means a lot to me. The opening of The Lies We Whisper is deeply personal. I drew on real life experiences, both my own and those shared with me over the years. I also spent a lot of time researching trauma, memory, and survival because I wanted Hanna’s journey to feel as real and relatable as possible. My goal was to honor those silent battles so many people carry and to write with honesty, even when it hurts. I’m glad it resonated with you.

This summer, I’m embracing a mix of epic adventures and classic drama. On my list: all five books from J.R.R. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings series, Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, both volumes of Gone with the Wind, and Oedipus. I figure if I’m going to escape into stories, I might as well travel from Middle-earth to Regency England to the heart of Greek tragedy plus a sweeping Southern saga or two for good measure. I’m also making room for some new indie authors this season, because there’s nothing better than discovering a fresh voice or getting pulled into a story that hasn’t hit the mainstream yet. If you have any indie recommendations, I’d love to hear them!

Since I was a teenager, I’ve had the same recurring dream: I’m walking down the aisle toward a man at the altar, with dirty blonde hair, a decent build, and dressed in a tux. Just as he turns around and I’m about to see his face, I always wake up.
I never find out who he is or what waits for me at the end of that aisle. Some mornings, that unfinished moment lingers for hours, leaving me hoping that one day I’ll finally see his face. Maybe that’s why I’m drawn to stories about the unknown, because I’m still searching for answers, both in dreams and on the page

If I could travel to any fictional book world, I’d want to step into the eerie corridors of Shirley Jackson’s Hill House not to solve the haunting, but to sit quietly in the dark and listen to what the walls have to say. I’d bring a notebook, a flashlight, and a very solid plan for getting out before midnight… but knowing me, I’d probably end up following a strange whisper down a hallway I was told to avoid.

Every night at 3:14 a.m., my phone buzzes with a text from my own number, “Are you awake yet?” Last night, the message changed, “I’m coming up the stairs.”
