Thanks for the compliment.
I just turned on the Amazon distribution on my Smashwords page so it should show up on Amazon/Kindle in a few days... I think.

Write for yourself. I don't mean being self indulgent. I mean write what's in your heart.
I catch myself worrying about how others might think of what I'm writing. When that happens I freeze up... I can't even make the simplest decisions, each paragraph becomes a struggle. I soon realize the book will never be finished at that pace. I am wondering if that's what happens to all writers.
DON'T WORRY. Write what you feel and feel what you write. If you're in it for money and praise you'll likely be disappointed. But who knows... sometimes it's more fun dreaming about making it big than actually making it big (so they say).
So just have fun.

I really can't remember...
I know I wanted to write Airplane novels... cheesy space opera. Something quick that could be read while flying (I used to travel a lot... and would always check my luggage and carry only an Agatha Christie paperback with my tickets in them). Wonderful way to travel.
I wanted to write something someone could read from their tablet to keep them occupied in airports and on planes. Something fast and fun.
I just played with ideas until Jett came along (I always though Jett Speed would be a cool name for a rock band).

I have to force myself to write... after a day of work, dealing with family issues and non important stuff like watching TV and playing Candy Crush (damn them) it is difficult to find the ambition to return to my writing.
I find that after everyone goes to bed I turn off the TV and maybe put on some headphones (I love Mozart operas) and withing minutes I'm lost in my writing. But too soon do I tire and have to call it a night.

My first book (of a planned series) is called Alec's Dream. A young adult science fiction. Based on the reviews, people like the fast moving story and the characters. The negatives were/where/wur grammer:) Also character development.
Since I didn't know where Alec's Dream would take me, I decided to start another series.... Jett Speed. This is another science fiction. I don't want to give any spoilers, but it's about beginnings. I love beginnings. I wish I know how the Force in Star Wars started... that would be a great story.
Besides the main story line, I like the 'background' to be a start of something new. Alec's Dream is the beginning of a whole new anti-gravity technology and all that comes along (in future books).
Jett Speed does the same. Jett is part of a large story... but the side effect is Jett changes the core of the universe, changes it in sub-atomic, quantum levels.... little things like the spin of a quark, or Planks constant. In the end magic, steam punk technology and whatever I can imagine become real the more Jett changes the universe. Lots and lots of fun.

If I made any money at it, I could say my job consists of daydreaming and writing about them.
It is such a release. I am a software engineer and have had about a half dozen jobs. Some jobs I needed to be very creative (that's a requirement for a writer) but some jobs frowned on creativity... that's when I started writing. It was almost like the creative side of me was being suppressed and needed a release. Now writing keeps me sane.

I sit in long and boring meetings at work. It sounds funny, but some of my best idea's have come to me then. When they do I start writing like crazy in my notebook.... my boss thinks I'm taking notes about all the wonderful things he's saying. It's a win-win.
I've started a new job since then so maybe I can return to my old place of work and sit in on some of those meeting again.
I guess it comes down to the harder I try, the less creative I am.
