ARC Instagram Giveaway of The Orchard House!

Friends, this holding-a-real-live-book in my hands never gets old. And I want to celebrate with you!

I remember visiting Louisa May Alcott’s Orchard House as a girl. I remember standing in her bedroom, looking at the very desk where she wrote her beautiful novel, Little Women. There was something sp

“I’d Strike the Sun If it Insulted Me.”

I watched the 1956 film version of Moby-Dick, the one directed by John Huston and was predictably and immediately disappointed. Not because I expected the movie to fail or wanted it to fail so as to leave me with the singular experience of the novel, unblemished or otherwise undistorted or untar Read more of this blog post »

My second book, Family: ...and Other Horrors, is now up on Amazon.

This one contains another thirteen stories in a similar vein to the first book. Which is to say "eerie tales" rather than out-and-out horror.

I've also taken the time to setup a US Authors page on the US Amazon, which is actually a bi Read more of this blog post »

The Silence of Pius XII

Two years after finishing Eleos, I’m still getting (mostly unfavorable) comments over my portrayal of the Pius XII’s role during that time. I will admit that I do puzzle over this: why was Pius XII publicly silent about the Holocaust? With hundreds of millions of Catholics in the world and one of ev Read more of this blog post »
