Lillian Francis is an English writer who likes to dabble in many genres but always seems to return to the here and now.

Their name may imply a grand dame in pink chiffon and lace, but Lillian is more at home in jeans, Converse, and the sort of T-shirts that often need explaining to the populous at large but will get a fist bump at Comic-Con. Lillian is a self-confessed geek who likes nothing more than settling down with a comic or a good book, except maybe writing. Given a notepad, pen, her Kindle, and an infinite supply of chocolate Hob Nobs and they can lose themself for weeks. Romance was never their reading matter of choice, so it came as a great surprise to all concerned, including themself, to discover a romance was exactly what they’d ...more

Lillian Francis said: " NT #1 - 5 reviewed in New Warriors omnibus 2.
NT #6 a depressing issue about race and hate. As valid now as a it ever was back in the 90s.
Web of Spider-man #109 - Great art.
Marvel Comics Presents #155 - 158/Namor #49/Captain America: Drug Cartel/Marv NT #1 - 5 reviewed in New Warriors omnibus 2.
NT #6 a depressing issue about race and hate. As valid now as a it ever was back in the 90s.
Web of Spider-man #109 - Great art.
Marvel Comics Presents #155 - 158/Namor #49/Captain America: Drug Cartel/Marvel Comics Presents #159 - 163 - not available on MU.
NT #7 - 8 NT fights Bandit who turns out to be his brother. Casual misogyny (women can’t say sorry, really!) and sexual assault (Bandit kisses Sil while she’s his captive and tied up) make this one of my least favourite issues. And Bandit’s reason for trying to kill Dwayne is pathetic. Ongoing story about a dam and Stark Industries.
NT #9 Depressing issue. A hired thug NT let go (Tantrum) is now killing. Turns out he has cancer and wants someone to put him out of his misery. NT catches him but doesn’t kill him.
Iron Man #302 - 304 Iron Man fights Venom, who is also upset about the dam. Great issue. Then Cap visits and is also concerned. Iron Man fights the New Warriors at the dam, and some Thor lookalike called Thunderstrike turns up, because his alter-ego designed the dam. So the dam is damaged but not destroyed, nobody wins. Tony has dinner with Steve. Then there’s another problem with a Gamma Bomb factory which has the Hulk turning up. (First appearance of Hulkbuster armour.)
NT #10 NT teams up with Iron Man to bring the dam issues to a close.
Nova #3 - Spidey’s in it. That’s the best I can say. It’s not a linear telling, jumping back and forth. Someone (The Corruptor) forces Nova to destroy a building site. Peter and Ben Urich are looking into corruption at the same site. It’s a messy read. And the artist draws Nova way too old.
Nova #4 - 5 Nova fights Nova 00, possibly from an alternate timeline from what he says, to be a better corps man. Condor, a baddie from some time ago has been turned into an actual bird/man and he comes back to take it out on Nova, despite it not being Nova’s fault.
NT #13 - 14 Change of writer. It's a guest spot by Dan Slott and it's not great. We get flashbacks combined with the current love triangle with Sil, Bandit and Dwayne. Boring. And NT has terrible rage that, in the same time period NW run, has been tempered by reason and maturity.
NT #15 Another new writer. And new artist. Meh. I like that Rage fought Hulk just because he wanted to try. Rest of the story was meh. Why is Silhouette looking to get back with Dwayne when she was already shacked up with his brother.
Nova #8 - 10 A new writer/artist. A shady organisations full of supervillains and they want to kill Nova for some reason. Art is better but there’s some pretty awful dialogue.
NT #16 NT has turned into an idiot that won’t listen to reason. Amazing how a new writer can just straight up change a character.
Nova #11 Ahh they're robots. No wonder the Hulk isn't clever. With She Hulk, The Thing and Ant man. #12 Nova 0:0 is back. And they take on the Inhumans. And lose because of Rich's temper and inability to listen. You know, things he was definitely getting better at handling before the writer change.
NT #17-18 Guest spots by Nick Fury and Black Panther as NT gets sent to Africa on a mission by SHIELD.
NT #19 Tantrum is back but he's turned over a new leaf.
Nova #13 & 14 Lots of guest appearances from parts of NWs and their side team. I honestly think Rich is having a breakdown. Oh and I think I know who Nova 0:0 is. Robert Rider?
Nova #15 - 16 This is as far as the issues go on MU. (No 17 or 18). Great end to the Deathstorm story that has been happening. I was right Nova 0:0 from another dimension was Robbie Rider. Unfortunately he dies at the end of this. Choked me up.
NT #20 & 21 - Rage goes on a rampage. There’s a creepy pedo drug dealer. NT owns a movie studio! These last few issue are awful.

Just some odd issues that are included in this omnibus to finish up.
Ultragirl 1 - 3 - meh. Didn’t like the characters, art was bland. Starred all the NW but characterisation felt off. ...more "

Thank you. As the date gets closer I'm getting more excited.
I've just read your blog post at Chicks and Dicks. Very interesting and well thought out, especially since we originate in the same fandom.
I was worried you might think I was stalking you, after I tweeted you the other day! LOL.
