I'm voluntarily reviewing a free advance reader copy I received from the author.

So first of all, Poor Glenn! His "boyfriend" was a total and complete tool, and I am so glad he is gone from Glenn's life. (On another hand, however, he seemed like such a jerk that I'm surprised Glenn didn't notice it sooner-he's an intelligent man!)

Glenn goes on a local holiday "getaway" with his jerk-ex. Unfortunately Glenn gets ill and requires being quarantined and taken care of. Hotel worker Bastian goes above

I loved Calamine & Christmas Cake by Lillian Francis. The story is about Elementary school teacher Glenn who goes to a resort with his boyfriend, Xander. Little does Glenn know that he has gotten measles from one of his students until his boyfriend informs him one morning that he doesn't do sickness and abandons him at the resort. Lucky for Glenn, he has Bastian (Seb) there to be his personal nurse/friend to take care of him and keep him entertained while he has to be quarantined. They have ...more

This was a cute and heart-warming love story set during Christmas! The main character, Glenn, wakes up sick a few days before Christmas while he's on vacation with his boyfriend, who quickly leaves him alone. I felt a lot for Glenn, but luckily he's soon taken care of by Seb, one of the hotel employees. Seb is funny, caring and sweet and soon Glenn's feelings that started as a crush develop into friendship, then into something more. I found the pace of Glenn and Seb's

A really great and well-written m/m👬💗 romance with some steamy times but mostly it starts with a crush and morphs into friendship and more. I really liked the unique start to the tale. Having had the experience of being alone and ill, stuck in a small hotel room until I could get back on my feet, I appreciated that Glenn, the hotel guest turned invalid, felt abandoned and isolated without Seb's visits to care for and entertain him.

Seb is a warm, likable character and the heart of the 🎄holiday at

I hate having to give this book this sort of rating, but this was very "meh" for me :-/! True rating ... 1.5 stars. I didn’t like this but I didn’t dislike it either - I felt Seb deserved the stars, so I rounded up!! A lot of nothing happened here and this story felt very undercooked and unfinished :-/! The Xander plot line was redundant, I didn’t really feel the connection between the MC’s and for the life of me couldn’t understand why Seb would even take a risk on Whatshisname [Glenn], the sex ...more

This was a really sweet Christmas story of two men who meet in a peculiar way. Glenn contacts measles and the disease shows up when he goes to a resort hotel just down the road from him with his boyfriend. Boyfriend does not do sickness well and leaves Glenn in the lurch. Bastian who helps his aunt manage the resort takes it upon himself to take care of Glenn. The men settle into becoming friends as Glenn tries to make Glenns Christmas a good one despite he is quarantined at the hotel. Friendshi ...more

Let me start by saying that this is the first Lillian Francis book I've ever read. And I'm so glad I did!

Glenn goes to a resort to spend some romantic time with his boyfriend. Too bad for him he's got measles and his boyfriend wants nothing to do with him. Although his saving grace comes in the form of waiter/assistant manager Bastian aka Seb.

Glenn is so cute! He's giggly, funny and really sweet!

Seb is even cuter! He's caring, romantic and a fantastic nurse lol!

I really enjoy reading m/m book

This book was given to me in exchange for an honest review.

The story starts with Glen, an elementary school teacher, being left at a hotel during Christmas due to unexpectedly coming down with the measles. His boyfriend looks at the spots and tells him he doesn’t do sick people. Next thing you know Sebastian, who is a man of all trades working his aunts hotel, is looking over Glen with a doctor. Glen and Seb had flirted with each other earlier. After Glen is diagnosed with the measles he stays i

A sweet story about Clen and Seb,the former a teacher on a little vacation with his boyfriend.
When His boyfriend does not do,sick people.and bails on him.
Sebastian swoops in and takes care off him.
The guy is more than sweet, both guys are flirting.
In the time it takes Clen to get better,he and Bastian develop the start off something more.

The romance takes place in the matter of a couple off days.
to early to make the jump to forever, thus the hfn on the final page is fitting.

I liked it,as it is,a n

This was a cute and fun Christmas story. I really enjoyed this book but the ending was too abrupt and left me wanting more. Glenn and Seb were interesting characters but it took me a while to warm up to Glenn. Seb was a sweetheart who simply loved helping people. He went above and beyond his usual duties to make sure Glenn was looked after during his illness. They are an unlikely couple but fall for each other anyway. I look forward to reading more books by Lillian Francis.

I dont do spoilers or rewrite the blurb... I loved this book, my first thought after I'd finished it was that it is such a lovely, cosy & completely feel-good story, the characters were believable & very likable, the storyline is realistic & so enjoyable that I found myself reading faster & faster as the story progressed. This author has never disappointed me & I'm looking forward to reading what she puts out next. I voluntary received a copy of this book in exchange for an h ...more

This is a super cute and sweet story with some hot moments but mostly about two men really getting to know each other and developing a friendship and eventually a relationship. Love the writing and the storyline. Glenn and Sebastian are wonderful characters who are perfect together. It's a heartwarming, feel good story perfect for Christmastime.

A sweet Christmas story. When Glenn Trevor goes down with measles on what is meant to be a romantic Christmas holiday with his boyfriend, said boyfriend Xander does a runner. Glenn is nursed back to health by Sebastian who works at the hotel and is training to be a manager, and the pair gradually become close.
A proper Christmas romance.

Cute, but could have been shorter. There is pretty much no one here, other than the two MCs, and one is sick with measles (don't get me started on all the cases of measles here!), so the whole thing takes place in one resort room, and there's just a lot of Seb bringing meals and hanging out, getting closer and shying away, and not much else for plot.

This was a cute book that was also a fun holiday read! It was easy to empathize with Glenn and entertaining to see how Sebastian took care of him. Would definitely read again.

To my ratings (for all people, who wonder, why I say a 3*-book is a good book and should be readed):
5* - very very good and rare (it would be a Blow-Away-book like Liberty from Seth King or Save the kids series from EM Leya). it’s like an A+
4* - very good and will be often reread and is a WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises (like most of Andrew Grey books)
It’s like an A
3* - a really good book, which will be reread a few times (most romances where you

A man comes down with measles while on Christmas holidays. His boyfriend deserts him, but the asst manager agrees to care for him. Sweet story. Likeable MCs and we get to see some English xmas traditions like decorating a yule log.

Cute christmassy read about finding new love when you don't expect it.

The ending was a bit disappointing. An epiloge picturing the couple a year or more later would have been better instead of just a week. This ended on a HFN but I liked it anyway.

I loved this sweet Christmas story. Both Glenn and Bastian were wonderful and so cute together. I loved Bastian's caring nature and how he went out of his way to make sure Glenn had a good Christmas. It's a pretty low angst, feel good story. Even the ex wasn't that bad a troll, just selfish and uncaring. Glenn was definitely better off without him. I especially enjoyed the author's description of the Christmas light display. It was so detailed I felt like I could see it and feel the festive atmo ...more

Holiday romance

A lovely Christmas holiday romance, with the difficulties that a holiday romance has.

Glenn has gone on a Christmas trip with his boyfriend to a resort, but to wake up with the measles. His boyfriend, Xander, wants nothing to do with a sick person, or this lame vacation, and leaves. But Glenn has to go under quarantine for four days so the resort keeps him and a worker, Bastian, is looking out for him since he is immune. Bastian and Glenn begin to strike things up as they spend mor

This book was a cute winter read - perfect for a snowy or a weekend spent in bed.
I loved the premise of the book - that was what originally drew me in: a guy sick with some type of illness left by his boyfriend, only to be nursed back to health by someone who worked at the place he was staying. It sounded perfect. However, the execution fell slightly flat towards the end of the book when "real life" came back into play.
