Soledad looked up. A legend. As if she were something like Santiana’s Sombrerón, or like Hidalgo’s Charro Negro.
When all she had done was move and work and try not to think too much about what she was doing or why.

He grinned and spread his palms. “They call you La Llorona.”
She set her glass down. “The Weeping Woman.”
“I like it.”
“It’s a terrible name.”
“Ah, but you have always cried so prettily, Soli. They say you’re the Herald of Death. That you help souls pass on. That you mourn those stuck in purgatory.” He leaned back and raised his pint to her, “I think its a lovely name.”
