Made it past the 35% mark. Woot! But this book still isn't drawing me in like I want. I think I liked it more when the h/H were at odds and some of dialogue/dialogue sequences just aren't flowing naturally for me. I'll just have to see how the author pulls it all together at the end.

Rhys's gut twisted again, but with possession and need and a deep emotion that had formed in the dark chambers of the fort. Admiration made up some of it. She had balls of steel, this woman. But there was more,too-and he wanted all of it. Needed all of it, all of her.

I've found myself having to reread multiple conversations multiple times to make sense of them. I'm sure it's just a case of me reading it wrong but the way some dialogue tracks is weird to me. The story is pretty decent so far, though. I'm reaching the 35% mark which is usually about where I stop if a book's not doing it for me. The 35% mark of doom: where books disappear and are never heard from again..

Started this one last night. I haven't read much steampunk so I'm not sure how this will go over. Of course steampunky gadgets are extremely aesthetically pleasing to me so it's got that going for it. This book throws jargon at you in the beginning. Bounders, buggers, The Horde. I think I'm getting it straight now...
