It really is so sad. I remember at the very beginning I was getting stories with deep rooted emotion and well rounded characters, now everything that is being majorly pushed is just the most surface level ‘love’ more like infatuation and smut all around. It’s genuinely so sad to me

it honest to god pmo. booktok has a written-porn addiction and i'm tired of it being normalized.

you're so real for that. I can't remember what book but I had the opposite encounter. One got recommended to me that was supposed to be this great love story and what I got was not a love story, but just an ordinary story.
Regardless, I think I ended up liking the book but not for the foretold romance aspect bc there was barely any of that. People mismarketing books is so frustrating

I know! i'm not saying i'm struggling to find books, but society's standards for books is decreasing and that's what's making me upset.

mismarketing is also a problem!! because now everything needs to either have this huge romance or smut to make it interesting?? I hate mismarketing it needs to stop. don't get me wrong I love romance but that isn't the only thing we like!!!
