writing myself and you all some notes to include in the final review but the Machado edition is wonderful. her preface is NOT skippable and provides necessary and interesting context to LeFanu’s work, as well as justifying changes she made and did not make. the footnotes are very helpful context, and sometimes have great voice and make me laugh.
