Everyone at the camp is amazed to figure out who the Godly parent of a new camper is. That would explain so much because she is very powerful and can summon plenty. Apollo feels more weak and more mortal every single day. That is a life changing situation.

Apollo wonders how much mortals can stand knowing death, knowing that they will die. He is very afraid of what the world would do to him because he is weak. He sees it as awkward as his own children call him dad as they are younger than him.

It's weird to see a god as weak and fearful, like a mortal. It is such an intolerable act to send your own sun down to Earth as a human, a man with no power. Apollo met a young girl who can comprehend the power he truly contains as well as being a god.
