Only reason why I’m taking small steps to listen is bc juniper is unbearably brazen without any, ANY self reflection. I need time and emotional preparations before I continue ..

Listening to this book is definitely an experience. Where to begin? I know it’s a dark satire from the author about the world of writing and how themes such as privilege and racism are grasped through a white woman having a writers inferiority complex and somehow entitlement at the same time. I don’t know how much I can handle, it’s painful but I keep listening.

Every time I think I can’t gasp further she definitely surprises you with her brazen attitude and denial. While reading, I’m getting secondhand embarrassment and shame as she continues to be insufferable.

Uhm.. yeah. Interesting character development going on, denial .. greed and jealousy. I gasped at her audacity to evaluate her own friendship with Athena with her dishonest friendship. Or should I say, fiend situationship?

Damn, heartless bitch had a name: Juniper. Inferiority complexes are truly scary.

Okay I just read the synopsis. A bit too fast with giving my thoughts and a hurdle and plotlines are about to come. One of the pitfalls of going in blind.

Honestly, it’s a rough start.. I find it difficult to hear about the jealousy and constant comparisons between her and Athena. Ironically, I imagine myself reacting to her successes as something as a cheerleader would do. I would love having successful friends bc they deserve to be recognised. It doesn’t say anything about me as a person and what I have to offer. But I will still keep listening.. #staycurious
