Gray is such an ass (even if he has a sexy voice, and is a smokin hot man). His sister is a bitch and Faith's entire family (minus her little brother) needs to disappear. Faith's hero worship of Gray is annoying. Oh, and I already think the lawyer is to blame. I hope I'm wrong since that would be way too easy!!!

This book was very predictable, I guessed the bad guy from the first moment he was introduced. It's almost over, just haven't been motivated to finish it. I will though.

This book is driving me nutty. There is so much ridiculous about it but as you can see, I'm still reading it. What does that say about me?

SO much about this book I dislike (the other POV's besides the two main characters drive me nuts, I also can't stand the internal oh-he's/she's-hot-I-want-him/her-but-can't-have-him/her dialogue). AT the same time, I look forward to the audiobook. WTF is wrong with me?

So why do contemporary romance novels have so much internal dialogue/reflection? It drives me batty!!!!!!! I don't sit down and reflect over my entire life on an hourly basis.

This narrator is like crack. I'm totally addicted to her voice (yes, I said she and yes, I'm all into her voice).

Oh I really like this narrator. The narrator is female but she manages to make the men sound (i'm almost ashamed to admit it) sexy!

I've had this audiobook and since I refuse to buy more audiobooks until I go through the ones I have, I figured it is about time to listen to this one.

Zeek ha! Gray really turns off alot of readers. I however think of him great fondness- and the book too! ::dreamy smile:: Think it's time for a re-read!

I can love him later as long as he redeems himself. I mean he is a rich, young, hunk who never had to live a day in Faith's shoes so I can understand him being an ass but as soon as he knows better, he should do better! I'm waiting for that to come because he's too damn sexy to stay asshole mode!

Zeek LOL! Dont be upset it it takes him awhile. I think I noticed it when he started seeing the very real danger she's in because someone wants her out of town- bad.

Zeek that actually doesnt take to long now that I think about it.

Zeek oh and the porch scene sealed it. not to mention the public bathroom?? whooweeeee!

I heard there is a very wicked porch scene!

willaful There are so many wicked scenes... I hated this when I first read it, for the obvious reasons, but then I just couldn't get it out of my mind and had to own my own copy.

I love that in a book!

Wendy Darling This was one of her good ones... :)

I saw your rating! That was encouraging. I've read plenty of Linda Howard books but this one just always stayed on the back burner!

Anna (Bobs Her Hair) I'm going to be the odd duck here and share that I absolutely hated this book. *ducks*

Many have loved it so maybe it will work out for you.

Zeek no no Anna- MANY hate this book, well Gray. My friend almost threw the book at me for rec'ing it to her!

And... No one needs to duck for cover over opinions of a book, imo. :)

I saw your rating as well. The ratings for this book are all over the place! What will be interesting is the audiobook of this book. The narrator is really good and might help this book along. She does a damn sexy male voice! LOL

Thanks, Zeek. I read this because it came so highly rec'd and I love LH. It's now safe and sound at a used bookstore. It's lucky I didn't throw it or stomp on it. :o(

Zeek And dont get me wrong, in Real life, I'd never get past his initial jerkery because a bully man never changes his spots. but this is a romance novel, the heighth of female fantasy, so I'm okay with it as long as he does change his spots... and grovels enough! haha!

And frankly i for one never believed him to be a bully- he was young and stupid but he did what he did because he thought he was defending his family. A bully only bullies for their own capricious amusement and edification.

LOL! That's how my friend felt! She was so pissed at me- I never even thought about it! BUT she also has a special needs child, in hindight, I shoulda realized.... you can only suspend belief so far after all.

Zeek <----- idiot

I'm always crushed when I recommend a book or give a book a high rating and other people hate it. I try not to react with such sensitivity since everyone's tastes vary but I have a tendency to be very passionate about my books so the negative review always floors me. I must admit I've gotten much better since moving onto goodreads. I now can tolerate people not liking my high rated books. Of course, I still frown and doubt myself but at least I tolerate it. I have no clue where I was going with this little speech...lol

Zeek I used to be more like that too- its because books do become personal especially whdn we love them. But being on discussion boards as long as i have i've learned to simmer down some.

Still sometimes it is is difficult not to defend! :p. Certain characters (eh hem jerricho barrons) i really have a difficult time with not defending but i've also learned to step away ftom the keyboard when that rises up!! Its just best for everyone that way!! Ha

Anna (Bobs Her Hair) So far personal recommendation haven't received anything lower than 3 stars. I'm sure it'll happen eventually. As long as the criticism remains focused on the book and doesn't become personal, ie "What were you thinking?!!!" is another issue.

message 20: by Zeek (last edited Nov 15, 2011 08:20PM) (new) - rated it 5 stars

Zeek yes the personal attacks are always out of line as far as I'm concerned because lets face it we're all made different, we're never all gonna like the same thing- if we all liked the same thing we'd all want the same thing and how boring would that be?! And besides then we'd all be beating each other up to get our hands on the same thing creating a demand no one could keep up with thereby causing our book prices to really sky rocket! So- Viv Le Differance I say! My budget demands it!!! You see? It's all about me! :P

I'm at the point in the story where I can totally see why you hate him and continue to hate him. He's a big ass but somehow, I can't see myself hating him always in this story (unless he continues to be an ass). I can see with what happened to his sister why he's so protective. Now, I definitely don't think he's right, and he could do what he can to protect his family with other non-destroy-other-people's-lives actions but I can see how can do it. What I'm trying to say in my long winded way is that I can understand what he did but I don't excuse it, he still needs to pay for his behavior!

Anna (Bobs Her Hair) Readers react to characters in different ways. No matter what angle I approached Gray I was unable to overcome what I felt were major personality flaws. I looK forward to your final verdict.
