"Perry took a shot to his kidney and growled, waiting for the pain. It didn't hurt as much as it should have. Soren him him again. Perry heard himself laugh". I'm not a writing expert, or even remotely skilled at writing so when something is "off" to me, I can't explain it. I just know it looks "off".

Thanks Wendy for letting me know about the cannibals. You are the best...without your encouragement.. I wouldn't have tried to read this (again)and figured out that it is actually a pretty good story. Nothing like cannibals to bring me back to the story..yumyum.

ok.. this is NOT working for me. I've tried twice. Maybe, if I seem to be the only one not enjoying it, I'll come back later (since it is obviously just me) and give it a 3rd try.

I swear this is my last WTF update... "His bow and quiver rested against the wall were where he'd left them". (yes, it really says that).

And yet another example... "Perry spotted her eyepiece resting on the leaves by her shoulder. He prodded it with a finger" (I'm guessing he prodded the eyepiece and not her shoulder). "The skin felt cool". (again, her shoulder or eyepiece?) "Velvety as a mushroom" (interesting). "Denser than he'd expected for looking so much like a jellyfish". (say what? I thought we were talking mushrooms??)

"Soren looked down at the girl. When he looked back at Perry, he stopped walking. It happened too fast, his momentum rocking him up on his toes. He'd changed his mind about something". Who stopped walking, who's momentum? Who changed his mind? Me confused!

"He was farther than she expected, but SHE REALIZED it didn't matter". The author loves the words "she realized". Only 5% in and I've noticed the wording already.

"I STOPPEd (not started) this earlier because all these warning lights were going off in my brain (yes, I know... seek therapy). I kept thinking "huh" (me uses big words). So, I did the logical thing and just stopped, I mean I'm only 3% in. Then, along comes Vinaya's review and me thinks.. "give book a chance". So, here I am.. giving book a chance. Not alot of complex thinking going on in this ole brain of mine."

Michelle, the Bookshelf Stalker That should read "Soren HIT him again". Damn, it is a good thing I'm not writing a book.
