I loved Moby Dick so I tried Melville's first novel, Typee: A Peep at Polynesian Life, and I also loved that. Omoo is kind of more of the same, but with the landscape being more civilized, and the men's imprisonment less high-stakes, I'm finding it less exciting. I put it aside for the time being.
