It's very slow in my opinion. To some people, the may think I more faster paced that that say a book by C.S Lewis or Cassandra Clare. I do like the characters though. I love the way Holly Black describes her character. It's not to much detail, but enough for you yo be able to invison them in your mind. I also really enjoyed the prologue. I normally don't like prologues in book, I just skip them.
