I'm enjoying this. Particularly, as we transitioned into Part Il.
My concern for this book is that, I feel like it is being marketed as Queer Fiction, or Queer Horror, first, when in actuality, IMO, this should be marketed first and foremost as EXTREME HORROR that follows a group of Queer characters. There's a distinct difference...

So, the monster aspect of this, the thing they're referring to as the Cuckoo, is horrifying and fascinating and obscene. It's quite interesting.

So far we're just meeting the unwilling participants of the conversion camps. Each of their individual stories feels sort of like a short story unto itself. Felker-Martin's splatterpunk nature is peeping its head in here -- her vivid and toe-curling descriptions hold nothing back!
