The difference for me is, well, here's a bit of a discussion I was having with Maja.You know, the way you describe him is very similar to how I would describe Barrons from the Fever series. I wonder why I love Reyes yet despise Barrons?

I haven't read the Fever series, so I can't say. But... I mean, even this conversation that you are quoting here. He's trying to tell her that he's evil, blah blah blah. But then later, he's offended that she believes that he's the Antichrist (or could become, whatever). Make up your damn mind, Reyes. Are you evil, capable of and willing to hurt innocent people because they get in your way? Or are you a good guy stuck in a shitty position and doing the best you can?I think he's a good guy at heart, but his presentation of himself is practically schizophrenic. And I really just don't like him with Charley at all. He seems to be a good guy with other people - we get secondhand evidence of that from Amador and Neil at the prison - but with Charley, he is largely a douchebag.
Duuude. I'm only on page 100.
