The narrative abruptly changes into these numbered paragraphs and sentences. Like almost 300 of them and the last one a stream of consciousness—very disruptive and jarring but I’m hanging with it

this is every bit as graphic and full-on as I thought it would be--maybe more. But I can't stop reading it

obvious CW for fatphobia and fat shaming
bullying, child death & murder (this is what the whole book is about)

I don't know why I'm reading this, it seems like too much for me, but I haven't been able to stop thinking about it since I read the synopsis and that it's based on a true story.
