To be honest, I'm not the best reader. I wish I enjoyed it more, and sink into books often. With a busy schedule, it's hard to read often, but it's relaxing. I normally read before I go to bed. Along with meditation, I find reading helps me fall asleep when my minds awake; it makes me sleepy.

Also, amplify is a great description word because it seems many events build on each other, forever reaching a climax. Last but not least, scramble represents many parts in the book, along with the title.

Three words in The Maze Runner that set a mood or tone in the story include menacing, amplify, and scramble. I picked menacing because descriptions and indirect threats foreshadow scary events, such as the prison-like clothes on all of the boys.

First of all, the world isn't all dark. The characters are only in danger once they set outside of the Maze walls. Inside, the land is green and fertile, with supplies too. Also, you don't figure out that the world is post-apocalyptic until the end. At the beginning, the world could be brand knew for all you know.
