Ok I am very interested in the political shit going on now and I am very happy that there’s a lot less focus now on the weird sex slave stuff. However the Regent makes my skin CRAWL. He is truly horrible and i wish him a very castration and slow death. The line about Laurent changing from when he was “such a lovely boy” makes me feel ILL.

I’m very conflicted about this book because it is. very fucked up. I feel that it’s tap dancing on the line between dark romance and sex slave rape fantasy, and I kind of hate that I’m genuinely interested in the (non sexual) dynamic between Laurent and Damen. Idk i’m feeling a little icky about things, hopefully there will be a change soon? We will see.
