(171/177) he was riddled with depression in the 3rd notebook for sure. It would make sense if he was molested by the servants as a kid, but I don’t recall the book saying that. Because he fears saying no so greatly. I wonder what new perspective the epilogue will give us.

“What is society but an individual?”(pg 120) it’s a be very different take on society than what I’m used to thinking. Did the servants rape him when he was a child? Because the 60 year old servant is “violating” him now, when he’s 27

(56/177) this book is making me expand my vocabulary. HOW COME YOZO & TAKEICHI ARE SO GAY TOGETHER? THEY HAD 3 BL TROPES. Umbrella scene, falling ill, & he shares this secret side of himself to only Takeichi. It’s really diving into how elaborate he is w/ hiding his actual self. Will he be betrayed or some shit later? “I thought that in killing a dreaded adversary I might actually be being him happiness.” (45)

(41/177) read the 1st notebook. Gives an intro to how Yozo sees himself & society. He chose to play a clown to hide his fucked self w/ laughter. Bro is a psychopath. Did the servants molest/abuse him? It sounds like it. Also he said that humans all lie & deceive each other, so he isn’t much different than us w/ his mischievous imp act. That’s a very interesting take on it. Loving this book so far. 🤡💴
