I MADE IT! I feel a bit sorry for the author because it seems like she put a lot of effort and research into her book but RUNA just didn't work for me. I was interested in the topic but couldn't relate to the characters and the story didn't succeed in keeping me reading at all. Also I find the ending quite unsatisfying…

I've been struggling with this book for more than 250 pages and had a hard time staying focused but now there was this murder where a woman was killed, her eyes got gouged out and the killer wrote a message with the fluid from her eyes and I'm like WHY DIDN'T YOU LET THIS HAPPEN 250 PAGES EARLIER??

200 pages in and it feels like I'm still in the introductory part. I wouldn't mind if this would pick up some speed soon...

I'm shocked and disgusted by how people were apparently treated in 19th century asylums...
