John Green was naturally a good writer and student. He had an early education, along with bullying from arrogant kids, Green being a social outcast. He went to Kenyon Collage, earning double graduation degrees in Religious Studies and English. After collage, he worked as a student chaplain in hospital with children that have terminal illnesses. This inspired him to be a writer.

John Green, a writer of young adults fiction books like Looking for Alaska, doesn't only write. He also produces movies like Paper Towns and the Fault in Our Stars. Before being a novelist, John Green was a YouTube blogger who launched channels with his brother. As you can see, creative people like him can take many paths.

I am enjoying this book very much - I can feel and live the characters. I can also relate to them, not by cancer, but by their emotions. First of all, they are teenagers. For example, the way Hazel describes her parents, and how they don't get her. Also, questioning things like why me and how I'm different.
