Some of the hardships feel too over the top. I wanted it to be sweeter.

Like the comic nostalgia in this. I hate the character of Ritchie as he is such a stereotype and feels so unoriginal compared to the two main characters. I also don't see the appeal of having so many characters be foul-mouthed. Yes, I get that it lends a crude veracity , but it really feels unnecessary.
