A werewolf named Chaney—give me a break.

An entire book about how werewolves can practically read each other’s minds and half a book about how shitty it was for Joe abandon the pack and not consult them properly about it—and now Ox is successfully hiding things from them and is planning to bail? Way to undermine the previous 90% of what you’ve written, TJ.

Em and I are hate reading till 50% and then we’ll see if we want to keep going. It’s still bad but now there’s actual drama happening, which is more boring than the gross romance, if you can believe it. I’m just not at all emotionally invested.

Called it with the mom. Also, I often complain that gay romances tend to be by women for women, so it’s nice to get one by a dude—unfortunately, he’s going for issue male writers have where women are only worth anything as moms, if they’re dead, or both.

“‘Is it bad to be 21 and not have had sex?’

“‘Uh . . . no? Why are you asking me?’

“‘He stared at me. ‘You’re the future mate of the future Alpha. You have to answer questions like this.’

“‘I do?’

“‘Yeah. It’s, like, your job.’”

Okay I hate this book but the idea of a werewolf rebbetzin is really funny.

I must be reading a different book for everyone else here because this is not good. The writing itself isn’t bad, but I’m not exactly squeamish and I’m still getting creeped out by this thing with Ox and Joe.

Emily is reading this and thinks she doesn’t like it, but she asked me to catch up to where she is so we can decide together if it’s worth finishing. So far I do not like it; it’s creepy and I can see so many ways it could have been tweaked to be less uncomfortable.
