to be in nature and reflect, but the aim is connection to the self, or to an abstract 'universe' or 'mother nature' - in essence, using creation to go back to creation or a false deity, rather than the Creator - al Khaliq.’

Al-Kabir - the Most Great

‘We start the prayer by proclaiming: Allahu akbar - God is greater. He is greater than the world we are about to leave behind. We might be consumed by making money - He is greater than our money. We might be beaten down by our problems - He is greater than our problems and is indeed the solution to them. We may be infatuated with a human being's seeming grandeur - Allah is greater.’

‘al Asma' al-Husna - ‘The most Excellent Names’ - They are described as the 'most excellent’ or 'most beautiful' or the 'best' to point us to the fact that when these names are used to describe Him, they are in their absolute best, most perfect form - a form which we cannot conceptualise because it does not exist in human beings.’

The Prophet (PBUH) told us, ‘The believer who mixes with people and patiently bears their annoyance will have a greater reward than the believer who does not mix with people and patiently bear their annoyance.’
