The fat shaming / body shaming comments from the main character and the insistence of describing people as “coloreds” “negroes” and “orientals” from his twin from the 50s is really icky to read. If it wasn’t so short I’d probably put it down tbh

That was horrible. The plot was a mess and made no sense, as if the author (who apparently usually writes YA and adult) thought it didn’t matter because it’s for kids so who cares if he puts thought into it!!! It was offensive in so many ways and had boomer energy. I’m sorry but kids deserve better. What the actual fuck did I read.
