Beatty confused me with all the allusions and I didn't understand it at first but going through and thinking more in-depth about it I was able to understand it. And one thing that confused me was that he was using quotes to combat Montag but he hates books so that still confuses me a little but but I understand it more and was able to get to that point.

The sticky note that I had down was that since he had burned the house down with a lady inside he didn't want to be around kerosene otherwise he was scared he was going to do it again. Captain Beatty came over to try and get him to come back and he said, "We're due back at the house. Besides, these fanatics always try suicide; the pattern's familiar." ( Bradbury 39). He told Montag it was a normal thing.
