Has anyone else ever checked out the most popular books among your friends? I was thinking today that my next goal is to read the books that the majority of my friends have that I haven't gotten to yet.

Wendy Darling This is really cool. Lots of expected titles, but also some surprising ones.

Desperado Oh! I didn't know about that. How cool! Thanks, Shanwow! Are you going to add any to your buddy reads for August? Because there are a few I wouldn't mind reading.

Shannon Hrm, good question. Maybe these:

Slave to Sensation (Psy-Changeling, #1) by Nalini Singh The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie (Highland Pleasures, #1) by Jennifer Ashley Grimspace (Sirantha Jax, #1) by Ann Aguirre Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake (Love By Numbers, #1) by Sarah MacLean

Desperado Oooh. I might be able to read Slave & Nine with you. I just discovered Interlibrary loans. Haven't received or had any books accepted yet but who knows? Maybe the Book Gods will smile down on me & give me the smut & PNR my own library is lacking.

new_user I thought you read the Nalini Singh books, LL?

message 6: by new_user (new)

new_user I just checked it out, and I've read most of the same ones as my friends, and they're all in the same genres, LOL!

Shannon Yeah, if you go all the way down to the bottom it says it only compares with your top 20 most active friends. That kind of sucks. I could've sworn this feature was more useful back in the day. I thought there was a way to compare books in a genre among multiple friends. Maybe they did away with it?

Laura Lulu I was just going to say that it's weird--look at the numbers, it says this many people read it, and this many people rated it, and the rated number is always less than the read number. But all of my GR friends give a star rating when they've read something.

For example, one book says 14 people have read it, 1 person rated it. That's impossible. So I go look at the book, and I have 31 friends who have added it TBR, and 6 of them have actually read and rated it. So I guess it's only taking the top 20 active friends, and 14 of those have added it to their TBR, and one read and rated it.

But it doesn't say 14 added it, it says 14 read it. So it's kinda dumb.

Jen My top 9 were all JR Ward books. :/ Of course 20 of my most active friends have read those books!

Nah. I'm up-to-date in Singh's "Guild Hunter" series but haven't tried her "Psy-Changeling" series yet.
