(1) Frey: "You should call your cousin. You should talk. You will need her help before all is said and done."
- Now, I know Annabeth appears in at least one of the other books, but I can't remember to what extent she helps Magnus, if at all.
- I'm wondering whether needing her help means this series or one upcoming, as portended with the "task force" mentioned in "The Crown of Ptolemy" and "The Tower of Nero."

(1) "The giantesses looked at each other like they were trying not to giggle. They’d obviously been hitting the mead pretty hard."
- Hold on, I thought mead didn't get you drunk? I thought it was a stimulant?
(2) Fenris Wolf: "You hear what you want to believe. You think your conscience is whispering to you when it is, perhaps, the Wolf instead."
- The wolf's a wolf in sheep's clothing? Who would have guessed?

(1) "Crafting was not a fast-moving sport."
- In general, I find this very true. Handcrafted anything will always take much more time to create.
- Though, I guess it also depends on if there's a time limit and how many rounds there are.
(2) Thor watches "Arrow." You'd think he'd be a fan of Marvel not DC, but I suppose the former hits too close to home.
- I can see him being really judgy about Chris Hemsworth.

(1) I wonder where Samira gets all her red gold from?
- Doubling Harald's payment is enough to snuff out his murderous mood completely, so it must be a lot!
- It's not like it's family wealth in American dollars, it's the currency of Asgard and Valhalla.
- I suppose being a Valkyrie must pay well.
(2) Blitz: "You can’t trust a giant to give you straight answers."
- A dwarf not trusting a giant? Get outta town!

(1) Minor spoiler: Annabeth guesses Magnus is a demigod and wants to take him to Camp Half-Blood. At this point, Annabeth knows about the Egyptian and Roman pantheons, but assumes Magnus is Greek.
- I suppose since they're related, and it would also explain his homelessness, since she was too.
- But then, she should also know better. Jason and Thalia Grace were siblings yet born to different pantheons (sorta).

(1) "Something clicked in my head. Mallory liked Halfborn. You don’t call somebody an idiot that many times unless you’re really into them."
- Ah, the "Seaweed Brain" rule. Otherwise known as "pulling pigtails."
(2) Hearth: "A magic sword stays with you. You claimed it."
- Ah, the Riptide rule. Nice that weapons magic is consistent.
(3) Well, now we know where Annabeth was during "The Trials of Apollo."

(1) "I had to learn the power structure, the pecking order, the no-nos that would get me stabbed or rolled. I had to survive… even if I was already dead."
- So, Valhalla is Oz (the prison, not the fantasyland)?
(2) "The mead didn't make me giddy, dopey or nauseous ... It woke me up, filling me with a warm sense of confidence, but with no edginess or racing heartbeat."
- Good, no more need of coffee or cocaine.

Notes:
(1) This narrator, Christopher Guetig, sucks.
- Not only is his performance amateur, but he just sounds like a total goof! Like the worst Canadian accent parody.
(2) "That’s my Uncle Randolph. The dude gunned his BMW 528i (of course it had to be a BMW)."
- I don't know, in these books, most of the time it's a Mercedes.
(3) Mahogany must be the only wood Riordan knows.
- In his world, all furniture is mahogany.

Notes:
(1) With this series I'll have done audiobook re-reads of every Riordanverse book I've already read.
- Which is all of them (not counting collaborations) except for "The Trials of Apollo," which I only just finished last week.
(2) I don't remember much about this, mostly that I liked it much better than "The Kane Chronicles."
(3) Buddy-read with Jenny.
