1863 - Lincoln Gettysburg address. Amazing and familiar , happened to visit Lincoln memorial while reading this book and read the engraved Gettysburg address!

1857 - dred scott case. Disastrous decision by the SCOTUS , Taney states mr scott is not a citizen so cant bring the suit, but if he could MO state law hes a slave, so IL state cant undue that

1860 - SC secedes after Lincoln is elected

1861 - Lincoln first inaugural address, amazing, “we must not be enemies…”

1832 - Jackson’s nullification proclamation - lead by john c Calhoun, south carolina tried to refuse to obey federal tariff laws and threatened secession if forced; Jackson readied troops to say yes you will obey and you most certainly wont secede. Booyah

1823 - Monroe doctrine - no new European colonies in the Americas. And we will acknowledge but remain neutral in efforts by existing colonies to free theselves
