it sucked

Stubbornly keeps reading this crappy book. ~60 pages to go.

Thought about dnf'ing, but read a couple more chapters. why? idk. I can't imagine you could make a book on octopuses any less interesting than this if you tried. f'ing field journals of coordinates and measurements would be more exciting. less than 100 real pages to go... hmmm

Know what would have been better than paragraphs of incoherent descriptions? A picture. That said, I had no idea morays could do that knot thing. This continues to skate along the border of dnf. I probably should.

Back to this, I guess. Not loving the writing style.

Content Free. Memoir style, but tells us absolutely nothing about the author. Occasionally mentions octopus, but certainly not focused on them or anything else. Heading for a dnf if things don't improve soon.

I was not expecting the memoir or Alaskan history aspects. That's not bad, but the ratio of octopus to non-octopus content so far is a bit lower than expected.
