Still loving it. The flamboyant melodrama reminds me of Ouida.

If Ouida had been allowed to use the word "nipple," she would have written something like this novel.

Kate's loser husband-of-one-day is penniless, disowned, slobby, & bitchy. He also paints erotica whenever he's bored with impressionism. A true prince of the finer arts. :p

Loving it so far. Victorian melodrama? Yes, please.

I started to read Ouida's Moths years ago but ending up bailing because of the miniscule typeface. Broadview Press sucks. But I did like it for what I DID read of it.

Vere's husband is one of the most loathsome, abusive asswipes in literary history. Neil (the slobby, bitchy painter from this book) reminds me of him...except Neil shows occasional glimpses of humanity, even if he's an abusive asswipe.

I love Broadview's supplements & covers, but they do insist on the most miniscule print possible. Maybe they want to scare away the unwashed masses? :P

It would be nice if they'd go for, oh, 8 pt font. It'd be an improvement. :P I'll have to make do with another edition, maybe one of the oldie 3 vols. deals.

Sarah Mac Are you kidding?! 8-point will make the book HUGE! *shocked gasp*
