Kate's loser husband-of-one-day is penniless, disowned, slobby, & bitchy. He also paints erotica whenever he's bored with impressionism. A true prince of the finer arts. :p

If Ouida had been allowed to use the word "nipple," she would have written something like this novel.

Still loving it. The flamboyant melodrama reminds me of Ouida.

Loving it so far. Victorian melodrama? Yes, please.

I keep looking at this one on my bookcase. Should read it sometime....

Sarah Mac Thus far, the one thing I don't like about it is...prepare yourself...that the hero (Lincoln Reynolds) has a mustache. But the dude on the front (obviously supposed to be Link) is clean-shaven, so I think I'm justified in ignoring the mustache & loving it anyway. Hehe.

Plucky little romance novelists kept having staches on their heroes, even though the cover artists rarely showed them. :P

Hmm. Maybe my tastes aren't so unusual, then? I'm ok with beards or goatees, but straight-up mustaches don't do it for me.

Not keen on staches alone either. Goatees, eh. Beards are ok, and stubble is best (but historically inaccurate, oh well)

Sarah Mac I'm ok with beards because they harken to my old-school loves for Tolkien & viking lore, but overall I prefer clean-shaven. (And I freely admit to hating chest hair. *gag* I try to ignore it because many romances embrace the hairy male chest...but ew. I wince every time I read it.)

I love man pelts. :P

You made me LOL (at work, no less).

But I'm used to being in the minority on that detail. *snerk*

Actually, from all the recent covers, the waxed look seems to be in and the fur-lovers are stuck in the cold back alleys with the smokers and BR fans.

Don't forget people who like dangerous, nasty vampires. :P Wishy-washy vamps are even infiltrating the PNR genre these days. Ugh. (But I can't complain about the waxed look.)
