I think part of why I’m having such trouble with this commune, subsistence farming shit has zero appeal to me. Like I’m sure we’re (at first) supposed to see Pastoral as an idyll, but IMO that’s a nightmare.

Theo’s chapters are okay, but Travis, Bee, and Calla are the most insufferable narrators I’ve ever read.
