Dreadful mishmash of language and characterisation. I do not believe the Americanism of regimen was in use in England at the time.
I find the pronunciation of many names and words implausible and annoying to listen to, whether this is the writing or the reader I do not know.

A thin although innocuous story. Read badly and an unpleasant mishmash of and English upper class house using nasty Americanisms totally inappropriate usage. Not my kind of thing at all
