The Land Institute is trying to recreate and steal Captain Nemo's inventions. But, Captain Nemo's inventions are only available to his descendants. And, the only remaining descendant is Ana. So, Land Institute are currently trying to track down Ana..

CHARACTERIZATION: One of the characters in my book is Ana Dakkar. She is a freshman who attends a marine academy school. In the beginning of the book, she isn't really a leader, but isn't shy either. She shows lots of confidence because she would dive into the cold ocean every morning. Ana discovers that she is related to Captain Nemo who was believed to be a myth. From this, she became more brave and courageous.

SUMMARY: The main character of my book is Ana Dakkar and she is a freshman attending a marine school called Harding Pencroft. This story takes place in Harding Pencrofts academy. My story is about how Land Institute which is Harding Pencroft's rival school suddenly destroys Ana's school (early in the story). Ana basically has to fight back with the survivors. This story is written in first person point of view.

MAKING CONNECTIONS: This book had many similarities and differences to the real world. One of the similarities were that in the book, there was a marine school that produces many scientists, naval warriors, and underwater explorers. There are many similar schools in real life that teach marine biology as well. The characters are also human beings. A difference is that we don't wear astronaut looking masks underwater.
