I don't really expect deep characters from Wodehouse, they're just types, really. I think my problem here is Jerry is barely there at all, and Biff is a type I actively dislike. Random passers by are more sympathetic than the heros.

I have an edition of one Wodehouse with a cover that makes it look super sexy.

Right? I guess the cover artists don't actually read the books.
It makes me think of those high quality ebooks you find with public domain text and cover images that were probably grabbed from google images by a blind bot and uploaded with zero human intervention.
